Not sure what to say?

Kathy, Christy & Ryan, there are no words that I can say to lessen your pain. All I can do is pray God wraps his loving arms around you and gives you the peace and understanding only he can provide. I can tell you, I've been where you are, losing both Rocky and my Dad and right now the pain is unbearable and you're heart is breaking for what you've lost. But as time passes, and with God's help, your heart will mend and you'll be able smile as you remember Johnny and the love he's had for all...

Kathy and family, My heart goes out to you. I have gone through the loss of a husband also. God is with you. Trust in Him to help you through the hard times. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family. May you find comfort and peace in the Lord.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

We are each given a set amount of time in the flesh—a sacred span we don’t get to choose. What truly matters is the love we give and receive during that time. Hold close the moments, the laughter, the kindness. These are the things that live on in us. May peace surround you, and may love continue to light your way.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. So very sorry for your loss,

Prayers for Christine and the whole family ❤

Johnny's Obituary

Johnny Chafin, 70, of Hatfield, KY, passed away Monday May 26, 2025, at his residence. Johnny was born August 11, 1954, at Nolan, WV, to the late Roy Chafin and Ruthie Potter Chafin. Johnny was a drag racing and mopar enthusiast. If he wasn't working on his race car or racing it you could find him at the track or watching drag racing on TV. He also was an avid fan of anything his kids or grandkids were involved in.     Left to cherish his memory, include the love of his life, Kathy. Having married on June 28th, 1975, they were getting ready to celebrate 49 years of marriage. His daughter Christina "Chrissy" (Gary) Nunley of Taft, Tn., his son Johnny Ryan Chafin of Madisonville, Ky., his grandchildren who were the absolute apple of his eye, Derrick Nunley of Ft. Campbell, Ky and Colton Chafin of Madisonville, Ky.     Although his passing leaves an emptiness in our hearts we take pleasure in knowing he is no longer suffering and was welcomed home by his mom and dad, all of his brothers and sisters and the rest of our family that has passed. What a Heavenly reunion that was. Special thanks to Bluegrass Hospice and Pikeville Medical Center for taking such good care of him.     The visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM Tuesday and Wednesday nights at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday May 29, 2025, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Gary Stewart officiating. The burial will follow at Fluty-Lick Cemetery, Martin County, KY, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, is serving the Chafin family.
