Memorial services for Mr. Johnny Willard Necessary, age 78 of Cookeville, TN, will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2:00pm at the Dodson Branch Free Will Baptist Church (285 Old Dodson Branch Hwy. Cookeville, TN). Bro. Ronnie Dunn will officiate at the service.
Mr. Necessary passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born on August 22, 1947, in Kingsport, TN to the late Walker and Dorothy (Sockhart) Necessary. Johnny worked for many years as a construction foreman. Then owned his own concrete business. He attended the Dodson Branch Freewill Baptist Church in Cookeville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Tammy Barnett; Step-Daughter: Rachael Jones; Brothers & Sisters: Wayne & Jimmy Necessary, Patty Powell, Teressa Begley, Jody Ragle, and Betty Jean Necessary; Grandchildren: Casey Hinkle, Eric Necessary, and others.
Johnny is survived by his Wife: JoAnn (Reels) Necessary; Son & daughter-in-law: Ray & Mary Pendergrass; Daughter & Son-in-law: Tina and Mike Lockwood; Stepchildren: Amber Jones, and T.J. (Amanda) Hedgecough.; Brother: Cecil (Diane) Necessary; and a host of grandchildren: David, Dustin, Kendra, Hannah, Ally, Josh, Landon, Kenya, and Daniel, host of great grandchildren: Milee, Heather, Joshua, Cloe, Gracie, and Shawn; plus, a great grandchild on the way.
He loved the Lord, his Wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, life, and was a blessing to all who knew him.
