I'm so sorry for the loss of Jon. We were big buddies a long time ago and I thought a lot of him. Great hearted fella and one of the funniest guys I've ever met. I wish you peace my friend and blessings to your family.

Jonathan's Obituaries

Jonathan David Umfress, 44, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born April 22, 1981, in Amory, to James David and Mary Lou Francis Umfress. He was a member of the Itawamba Christian Church.  He was an accomplished body shop repairman and had done several complete restorations. He loved nature and being outdoors where he enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting and fishing. He was an avid Mississippi State fan. He loved his dogs, Chief and Roxy. He loved his Lord and his family, especially his niece and nephew.

 

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Ray Trantham and Bro. Thom Perry officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

 

Survivors include his mother, Mary Lou Umfress of Fulton; two sisters, Kristina Hogancamp (George) of Caledonia and Kimberly Umfress of Fulton; one niece, Bridgett; one nephew, Andrew Hogancamp.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, David Umfress.

 

Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home.
