Jose's Obituary

Jose Carreon Jr. was born on November 2, 1966, in Eagle Pass, Texas, and went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2025, at the age of 58.

Jose earned his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and dedicated his career to caring for others—especially children. He was known for his compassion, strong work ethic, and unwavering commitment to his patients and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria G. Carreon and Jose E. Carreon; sisters, Loretta E. Gonzales and Maria Julia (Julie) Carreon; niece, Jessica Villarreal; brother-in-law, Luis Aguilar; and mother-in-law, Esther V. Ponce.

Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Sylvia Ponce, and their son, Jayden Carreon. He also leaves behind his siblings: Maricela (Roberto) Villarreal, Dalila Carreon, Lorena (Dave) Curtis, Sandra (David) Vega, Angelica (Christopher) Le, Juan Carreon, and Alejandro Carreon.

He was a proud uncle to 18 nieces and nephews: Jessica, Natalia, Gabino, Roberto Jr., Katarina, Andrew, Roger Vicente II, Clarissa, Jonathan, Keanu, Nitza, Sadie, Devin, Dylan, Sierra, Maricela, Alejandra, and Ryan.

Jose is also survived by his father-in-law, Jose Ponce; brothers-in-law, Javier Ponce (children BJ, Gabriel, and April) and Robert (Elizabeth) Ponce (son Houston); and sister-in-law, Maria (Augustine) Martinez, along with their son Hector Montalvo, (Abigail), and his children Christopher and Sophie Flores.

He was a cherished great-uncle to 20 great-grandchildren: Audrina, Kendra, Aubrielle, Leonel, Ava, Andrew, Aramis, Layvin, Ariella, Catalina, Emarie,Fernanda, Leonel, Ricardo, Alejandro, Diego, Carlos, Regina, Emilio, Roberto, and Gabino.

Jose will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the deep love he had for his family. His warmth and gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November the 3rd, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM with a prayer service at 12:00 PM.

Procession will depart Hillcrest at 1:30 PM for a graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery.
