He is survived by his children María (Manuel), Ramón, Gloria (Jesus), Joseph, Marycruz (Otoniel), Lidia (Ildefonso), and Ricardo.  He was preceded in death by his wife Quirina and children Blanca Julia, Manuel de Jesús, Jesusito, Samuel, and Robert.  José Pedro had 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. He leaves behind countless others who saw him as a beloved father/grandfather figure.

José Pedro Soqui Ríos and Quirina Castillo Beltrán married in 1935.  They were married for 74 years and had twelve children.  Don Pedro and Quirina were known throughout the communities where they lived as the sweet couple who held hands when walking around town.  José Pedro was an honest, caring, righteous, and Godly man who was a Pastor in Mexico. He worked for the Mexican government in Mexicali, Baja California.  After moving to the United States, he began working at John Ray’s/John Duty’s stations.

José Pedro had a sense of humor and brightened everyone’s day with his playful manner and recognizable smile.  He would pray for every family member one by one every night before going to sleep.  His love for God was truly something to behold.
