As I take a moment to reflect on this great man it is difficult to contain my tears for the loss and the appreciation for what he has meant to me and the influence he has made on my life. It's even harder to put the memories and words to paper. My Uncle Jay was like a dad to me at a time in my childhood when I was lost and confused. I like to think that he loved me as much as I love him.

Joseph's Obituary
Joseph Bennett, Sr, 73, of Texarkana, AR died Saturday, June 15, 2019 in a local hospital.
He was born August 21, 1945 in Texarkana, AR to Bethel Scoles. He spent his life working as a millwright.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his sons and daughters in laws Doug Burns & Monique and Joseph L. Bennett, Jr & January; one brother Tommy Fant of CA; two sisters Jean Nicholson of Hooks, TX and Annette Hartman of Texarkana, AR; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Johnny Wayne Bennett, a daughter Tammy Lynn Bennett, his wife Claudia Bennett and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 10:00 am at Texarkana Funeral Home AR Chapel with Bro. Sam Martinez officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 6-8pm at Texarkana Funeral Home AR.
