Joe you were and are a good friend. You are one of those people that are full of life and you will always be felt here. We go back a long way. Especially with our St. Joe´s vs. St. Catherine´s rivalry. I´ll never forget that overtime game we played at Lincoln Park. I won´t mention who won. I know you guys liked to boast even when we won. Fortunately we won the Championship that year. But Joe you are the real champion. Joe I´ll miss you, your presence will be ever felt. Keep jaying it. Your...

Dear Rob and girls,
Ellen and I are so sorry for your loss, I was lucky to count Cal as a friend, first meeting him from my days at the Parker House. Every time I called Fonny on the phone and got to talk with Cal I got a big "Buuuuuuuuuutch!!!" greeting. I cant believe this has happened and I'm sorry you girls lost your Dad. He is a special guy, so nice, and fun to be around. I'm very sorry.

My sincere condolences and regards to Joe's family and friends. I'd worked with Joe for over 15 years at the Omni Parker House. He was a good natured person, with a good sense of humor as well. He will be greatly missed.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you is something we will forever do. A great, kind, loving and caring man who touched the lives of all who knew him. Rest peacefully, and may the Lord keep you close Uncle Joe.

Our thoughts and prayers to Erin, Erica, and Auntie Robin.

Deepest condoleces to the Callinan family. Joe was such a great guy and will be missed dearly ! Thoughts and prayers Joe, God Bless

Best wishes to you all; Joe was a tremendous friend and all around great person. He will be missed

Callinan, Joseph P. – Of Somerville, passed away on Saturday January 14, 2023 after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was 52 years old.

Born in Cambridge and raised in Somerville. He was the loving son of Patrick Callinan and his wife Patricia and the late Ann (Burn) Callinan.

Joseph was a man who adored his family, especially his two daughters. His daughters were his pride and joy. He would always boast about how proud he was of them. If he wasn’t enjoying his time with his daughters, you could find him strategically planning his unbeatable fantasy football team. Joseph was a lover of all New England Sports. His love for sports did not end with the T.V. but he brought that love to his daughters who  coached in softball and basketball. He was always their number one fan. Joe had a 30-year career with the Omni Parker hotel as the Assistant Director of Security. He was loved by all whom he met.

Joseph was the beloved father of Erin Callinan and her fiancé Jacob Dill of Somerville and Erica Callinan of Saugus. He is survived by his former wife and mother of his two beloved daughters Robin (Mercer) Callinan. Devoted partner of Yvonne Lesko. The loving brother of Maureen Fodera and her husband Frank (his favorite brother-in law) of Lynnfield, Jeanmarie Callinan of Somerville, and Julie Callinan of Everett. He was the dog dad of Rocky and Remi and the great-dog papa to Gronk. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
