Joseph's Obituary

Joseph Richard Gamber, age 76, of Waynesburg, passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Joseph was born in Canton, Ohio on July 25, 1948 to the late Joseph Richard and Mary Jean (Gunther) Gamber III.

Joe lived in Malvern where he spent his happiest times on his family farm. He also taught at the Dover and Malvern school systems for 32 years.

To cherish his memories are his wife of 52 years, Ann Gamber of Malvern; two daughters: Jessica (Joseph) Held of North Canton and Joanne (Zackary) Barnard of Elmhurst IL; one son, Jacob (Kelly) Gamber of Waynesburg; 9 grandchildren: Maxwell Held, Nora Held, Margaret Held, Elizabeth Gamber, Rebecca Gamber, Sara Gamber, Henry Barnard, Clara Barnard, and Teddy Barnard; a brother Stan (Sue) Gamber of Bolivar; and two sisters: Karen Wackerly of Malvern and Beth Shearer of Robertsville.Funeral service will be held at Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home, 434 West Main Street, Malvern, Ohio, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11 am with Father Victor Cinson officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 9 am to 11 am at Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to Ohio Hospice.
