Not sure what to say?

I met Joe in 1987 when I drove up to his house, with no prior contact not knowing how to reach him, and said I heard he had some caves on his land and if he'd let me and a friend look at them. He dropped what he was doing and spent a few hours showing us the many caves and sinkholes around his ranch. When so many ranchers were closing their doors to strangers, I was impressed and greatly appreciative of his generosity of self and land. I was also amazed that when I returned about 30 years...

R.I.P. Joe, I will miss your great BIG SMILE every time I visited and your wonderful BIG HUGS, I will miss drinking a cold beer with you by the great campfires and listening to to Texas music, for hours , you were a blessing and I thank Brian and Sidney’ for letting me be a part of your fun and laughter and friendship and enjoying the thrill of the hunt and seeing the world of Axcis deer on that beautiful ranch, my prayers are with your family at this time of your passing, you will never be...

My sincere condolences to the immediate and extended families of Joe Eisenhauer. May God Bless Joe and all of you now and forever. Peace be with us all.

God bless you Joe! You went out of your way to help us cavers. Keep up the good fight!!!

My sincerest condolences to Curtis and the entire family. I have not seen Joe in many years, but so many memories of him and the family during my childhood. I hope Joe you are enjoying heaven and the abundance of wildlife there. Go hunting and get the biggest elk you can find. And you and my dad (P.C) can have fun processing it. You were one of a kind sir. I pray that all of the family can find peace and comfort. With sympathy, Tracy-Lou Lovelace-Funderburg (Rust) and Norman Funderburg

Joseph "Joe"'s Obituary

Joseph “Joe” Jacob Eisenhauer, age of 94, departed this life on January 14, 2026, in Spring Branch, Texas. Born on August 22, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas, Joe was the cherished son of Alois Paul Eisenhauer and Ella Reus Eisenhauer.

Joe lived a full and vibrant life, marked by dedication and hard work. He was the owner and operator of Eisenhauer TV Repair and Appliance, where he repaired televisions, air conditioning units, window units, and freezers for many years in Blanco and Spring Branch, ultimately retiring in 1981. His true passion, however, lay in farming and ranching, where he cared for his beloved cows, goats, and donkeys. Following the passing of his father at a young age, Joe diligently contributed to the family farm and lent a helping hand to neighbors in the area. His resourcefulness and ingenuity led him to proudly declare himself a “jack of all trades and a master of none,” often reflecting on his lost potential as an inventor.

An avid lover of music, Joe enjoyed dancing, bowling at Twin Sisters Hall, and spending quality time fishing and hunting both at home and in Colorado. He especially cherished the 4th of July, often camping and fishing along the river in Ottine, Texas with family and friends. An enduring spirit of camaraderie defined his outdoor adventures, particularly with close friends such as Sammy Detrick, Fred Rose (Zippie), and Clinton Beierle. Throughout his life, Joe found joy in dove and deer hunting, fostering relationships with fellow hunters visiting his ranch. In his later years, he took pleasure in watching old western movies and the programming on RFD TV, celebrating the beauty of winter as it allowed him to chop cedar and sell firewood.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Ford Eisenhauer, his parents, and two brothers, Alvin and Edgar Eisenhauer. He leaves behind a loving family: his children, Curtis Eisenhauer and wife Rose, Kathleen Eisenhauer and husband Ed Pena, and Doris Eisenhauer Taylor; along with four grandchildren, Doyle, Natalie, Adam, and Racquel; six great-grandchildren, Lexis, Tyler, Colton, Brady, Sara, and Kyle; and one great-great-grandson, Ryder.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Crofts – Crow Funeral Home in Blanco, Texas. Visiting hours will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment will be conducted at 1:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of choice, reflecting Joe's generous spirit.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
