Joseph's Obituary

Joseph Martin Lever, 63, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, July 13th , leaving behind a legacy built on love, loyalty, and horsepower.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Tina Lever, with whom he shared a deep and lasting bond. Together they raised three children—Joey, Kayla, and Felicia—each a reflection of his strength, humor, and quiet resilience. Joe was also the proud grandfather of five beautiful grandchildren: Prudencio, Gregorio, Selestino, Ezio, and his newest joy, Zaviela. His heart belonged to them completely, and he took great pride in being their Papa.

Joe also leaves behind his sister-in-law Roxann, nephew Jody, and Niece Jennifer, along with numerous cousins, brother and sister-in laws and countless friends who felt more like family.

Joe proudly served in the U.S. military from 1981 to 1982. Though his service was brief, it was a point of deep pride and identity for him—a chapter that shaped the strong, dependable, and honor-driven man he became.

A true gearhead, Joe had an unmatched love for hot rods and motorcycles. Whether he was wrenching on an old-school Camaro or Dodge, or tearing down a bike to rebuild it better, he was most at home in his garage with a project in motion. He had a craftsman’s hands and a dreamer’s heart—always tinkering, always building, always moving forward.

But perhaps nothing matched his love for dogs, especially his beloved Sasha girl, who never left his side. The bond they shared was unshakable, and her loyalty was a mirror of his own.

Joe had a gift for connection. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere—and usually did. He was a storyteller, a jokester, and the kind of guy who gave without hesitation and showed up without being asked. If Joe was in your life, you knew it—and you were better for it.

To be loved by Joe was to know real, unwavering support—and a hell of a lot of sarcasm. He leaves behind a family that will carry his humor, his grit, and his huge heart into every corner of their lives. His impact will echo through garage doors, shared laughs, revving engines, and quiet acts of love.

He leaves behind a world that’s a little quieter without him, but infinitely better because he was here. Arrangements are entrusted to Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

Now riding the open road with no red light
