Joseph Augustus Loftis, Sr.EasleyJoseph Augustus Loftis, Sr., 86, of Easley, husband of the late Betty Sue Burrell Loftis, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.Born November 4, 1928 in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Joseph Augustus Loftis and the late Sarah Burrell Loftis. Mr. Loftis was a US Army Air Corps veteran and was retired from Dixie Greenhouses.He is survived by two sons, Joe A. Loftis, Jr. (Wanda), of Easley, SC and Jerry A. Loftis (Diane), of Iva, SC; a daughter, Laura McGinnis (Mike), of Easley, SC; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Loftis and Gary Loftis.Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Powdersville First Baptist Church.
