Not sure what to say?

Joe, Pam, and I go way back. Although I never got to meet the man that Joe became, it is obvious that he adored Pam and his family. My heart is with you all today and you will be in my thoughts going forward. I’ll be picturing Joe and Pam as the kids I once hung out with in our youth. Some very lovely memories❤

You will be missed.Father Joe. Our hearts go out to you.

Joe was a real genuine person with a laugh that I would call very unique but real. I am happy that I got to see him in the Dearborn office a few weeks ago. May God bless his family and embrace each of you with love and comfort.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I had the pleasure of working with Joe, his brother Chris, son in-law Brock and cousin, John & David. Joe was a kindhearted, well respected man and his laugh was contagious. I always loved seeing his facebook posts about his horses and dog and hearing about his grandchildren that he was so proud of. He will certainly be missed by all the people whose lives he has touched throughout his life. Sincerely, Michelle Cook

What a wonderful man Joe was. I was introduced to him through his father at Merrill Lynch in 1982. He became a trusted advisor and a friend.

Our conversations never ended without sharing laughter. His distinctive laugh will always remain memorable.

Pam, My heart goes out to you and your family. May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief and wonderful memories comfort you and your family in days ahead.

With our deepest sympathy,

Joe was the greatest of greats. He lit up any room he walked into. He always knew just what to say and how to handle things with grace and humility. His loyalty was fierce and his kindness was immense. His legacy will forever live on in the horse industry, not only for his passion, but for his friendship.
The loss of Joe is a burden on our hearts and our deepest love and sympathy goes to his entire family.

I will always remember Joe for his passion for life and for his love of family. I was honored to work with Joe for over 10 years and will never forget his dedication to his clients and his colleagues. Joe was a special man who was loved by all and will be dearly missed. My prayers go out to the Mizzi family and I will keep Joe alive in my memory forever.

I am saddened to hear about Joe. I remember him as a kind, generous person who had a great laugh and wonderful smile. My parents looked forward to those dinner parties in Livonia and dad always spoke so highly of Joe working together at Merrill Lynch. My heart is with your family as this time.

What a loss to the horse industry and your family. I loved his work with Impulsions. All my best

Joseph's Obituary

Joseph Frank Mizzi, age 69, passed away suddenly on August 30, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Joe lived a life full of laughter, generosity, and unwavering passion.

Born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, where he met his wife of 48 years, Pamela (Moore) Mizzi.  He is survived by his daughter Carol (Brock) Becker of South Lyon, MI; his son Joseph (Anna) Mizzi of Chicago, IL; and his adored grandchildren Owen, Hannah, and Sophia Becker, and Zelda Mizzi. He also leaves behind his father, Joseph (Serena) Mizzi of Dearborn, his brother Christopher (Carri) Mizzi of Dearborn and his sister Elizabeth Mizzi of Dearborn.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Mizzi, and his sister, Cecelia Harvey.

A proud graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Joe remained a loyal fan and supporter of the Fighting Irish throughout his life. He enjoyed a distinguished 42-year career as a Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch and was looking forward to retiring this year - a milestone that would have marked the beginning of a new chapter in a life already full of achievement and joy.

In his early years, Joe was an avid golfer and a member and past president of Dearborn Country Club, where he forged lifelong friendships and countless memories. Later, his passions turned toward horses, and he established Painted Plantation in Newport, Michigan. His deep involvement in the equestrian community brought him immense joy, and he served as a member and past president of the Michigan Paint Horse Club, building lasting relationships through his shared love of horses.

Joe had a warmth that made people feel instantly at ease. His laughter could fill a room, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was a loving and dedicated husband, a proud and supportive father, a joyful grandfather, a loyal coworker, and a true friend to many. Whether cheering for Notre Dame, spending time with his grandchildren, or tending to his horses, Joe embraced life with enthusiasm and heart.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
