Not sure what to say?

I'm sorry to hear about Jim, our age difference growing up made a difference in my knowing him, but my parents always looked forward to their time spent with Jim and Kim. They took great personal pride knowing Jim, his accomplishments and his service to our country. His connection to Notre Dame only enhanced his stature! I hope you are able feel comfort from the support of the tight-knit Watkins clan and friends.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jim Watkins. He was an honorable and principled man, great soldier, and good friend. I send my love and condolences to Kim and family.

Aloha Kim and the Watkins Family:
All the best to you and my prayers are for you! I knew Jim when we were young Captains! To say the least, we had special times together. I know he will be missed, but you will see him again.
Warmest Regards and Deepest Sympathy

Colonel Jim Watkins, U.S. Army (Ret.), was a loyal friend who stood beside me in my hardest days and used his quiet strength to ease my burdens. He was a devoted husband and father who did all he could to make life better for his wife and sons, and every conversation with him left me a better man. I will always be grateful for his example and his friendship. Rest in Peace!

Jim was always so kind! He was a very special person! I'm so sorry for your loss, Kim and Jack. Jim shared all of you with us...all the Dominican Sisters! We always enjoyed seeing all of you! I love you, Kim and Jack! God bless you both and much peace. Sister Nadine Buchanan, O.P, Dominican Sisters of Peace

My deepest condolences to the Watkins’ family. God speed, Sir, and may you rest in peace.

I join many others who admired Jim Watkins, and benefitted from having known and served with him. Godspeed, Sir.

A bright beacon of light has been extinguished far too soon! Jim’s infectious smile touched everyone’s heart who came in contact with him during his life and career. From the minute he put on his Army uniform, the leadership that he exuded made a difference and changed lives for the good. During his tour of duty as the Commandant of the US Army Finance School, he was responsible for the training of numerous young soldiers and also for shaping the force structure of the Finance Corps on and...
