Josephine Virginia Garrubbo, of Evart, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Spectrum Health, Reed City Hospital. She was 97.
Mrs. Garrubbo was born December 27, 1920 in Newark, New Jersey to Joseph and Nicolina (Spano) Loria. She married Michael Garrubbo in September of 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1992. Josephine had lived in Irvington, NJ, Union, NJ, Chatham, NJ, and the last four years in Evart, MI. She spent her working life as a Beauty Salon Technician and Manager. Her hobbies included cooking and baking. Josephine was a member of St. Philips Neri Catholic Church in Reed City, MI.
Josephine is survived by her son, Anthony (Renée) Garrubbo of Chatham, NJ, her daughter, Beverly (Bill) Mills of Evart, MI, her son-in-law, Larry Yannuzzi of Middlesex, NJ, six grandchildren, Craig, Lauren, Janine, Ashley, Rebecca, and Adam, nine great grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Theresa, Isaac, Madeline, Amanda, Ella, Reid, and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Phyllis Yannuzzi, and two grandchildren, Eric Mills, and Paige Garrubbo.
Josephine Virginia Garrubbo will be laid to rest next to her husband in Hollywood Cemetery, Union, NJ. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 7th at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Reed City, MI with Father Rock Badgerow and Father Michael Hodges officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Spectrum Health Hospice.
