Not sure what to say?

There are too many memories to choose one (ok the Xmas card with Bible verse just for me..or so I thought ). Being a part of this family 45 years has been a privilege.

To Anne and the rest of the Vaara family.
I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother and mine were friends almost 70 years ago.

Wonderful Christian lady, always smiling, a joy to be around her & talking with her ; honored to have gotten to know her, she made everyone feel happy & special.

Jo's was one of the first warm smiles I met when I joined the choir at Calvary Lutheran Church. We were buddies in the alto section. I particularly remember how contemplative she would get during this time of Lent. I'll also remember her advise to NEVER stop giving your spouse a Christmas or Birthday gift as a gesture of love. Rest in the arms of the Lord Jo.

Jo Vaara was a living angel on earth. She shared her love, wisdom and grace with all who knew her. Jo was such a remarkable lady, to be in her presence was such a gift. Sincerest Condolences to the Vaara Family. Sending love to all.

Rest in Peace, Jo. It was a pleasure to know you and work with you while I served NOHLC, our local land conservancy. Your community spirit was inspiring and the respect you held for others was enlightening. God must be well pleased with you. And Mel! Wonderful souls who were a privilege to know.

What a special lady. I was in her very first class at Clarkston Elementary. Who would have ever thought that she'd be a part of my life for such a long time. From Miss Nickora, to Mrs Vaara, the coaches wife, to Jo, a friend. I would accompany my friend on scouting trips to Clarkston, and the best part was always touching base with Mel and Jo. I also can't say enough about how special it was for me, and my family, to have both Jo and Mel pay tribute to Mom at her funeral. On behalf of...

A real pleasure to have known such a wonderful person. May memories of her live on.
