Joshua's Obituary

Joshua Bradley Pittenger, 23, of Bangor, PA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 16th, in Scranton, PA.

Joshua was born in Bethlehem, PA on February 17, 2002, a son of David R. Pittenger, of Bangor, and Melissa (Carpenter) Pittenger, of Bangor, PA.

He was a 2020 graduate of Bangor High School and was currently attending Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA as a senior in the civil engineering program. At Bangor High School, Joshua was named the Scholar-Athlete for the High School football team. He also was an avid wrestler for many years, enjoyed playing football for his high school team and participated in track and field. During his free time, Joshua enjoyed kayaking, camping, spending time with his family and friends and built his own computer to play games with friends. 

In addition to his Father David and his wife Jennifer Putek and his Mother Melissa and her fiance Jeremy Flyte, Joshua is survived by two sisters, Emily Pittenger and Jessica Pittenger, two brothers, Philip  Carpenter and Richie Klingle, his paternal grandparents Judy Gearhart, Jan and Bill Marraccini, and two uncles John and Bill Pittenger, as well as brother in law Dwayne Labar Jr. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather John Pittenger III.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday, March 23rd at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville" Bangor, PA. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bangor High School Football or Wrestling Programs in c/o of the funeral home, 4 Lillian Lane, Bangor, PA 18013.
