Joyce Amalong, joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven on Wednesday Feb 17th 2021 at the age of 83. She was born in Corpus Christi Texas on April, 29th 1937. The daughter of John Calvin and Clara (Preston ) Smith the oldest of 6 children. Since her father was in the Navy, they moved around during her younger years. They eventually settled down in Bellflower, California, where she graduated high school in 1956 and first married in 1957. She had four of her five children, and lived in Long Beach California. After her divorce Joyce moved to Tucson with her parents and siblings in 1972, where she worked at Hughes Air Craft company for over 25 years, (later rename Raytheon) she remarried had her fifth child and lived there until this last year. She liked the desert and all things Western or Native American.
Joyce always enjoyed spending time with family and friends, taking endless family pictures, singing Christian hymns, and camping with her husband, Bob. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Joyce could frequently be found serving in the nursery or in the kitchen at church. Despite having a tough life and few worldly possessions, Joyce was always kind and loving to everyone, eager to give anything to those in need. Her cheerfulness, ingenuity, and positive outlook enabled her to “make due” in any situation, making even the simplest things joyful. Joyce was strong in her Christian faith and has always served the Lord.
Joyce is survived by her sisters Rose Womack and Helen Rudhy; her 5 children Debi Gilmore (Gary Gilmore), Charlette Mueller (Kevin Mueller), Fred Beasley, Jimmie Beasley, and George Amalong (Margaret Amalong); 10 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Joyce was proceeded in death by her first husband Jimmie Beasley, her husband Bob Amalong, her parents, and her 3 brothers, Eugene, John and Kenneth.
Memorial Services to be held at Bridge Church- North Campus, 1240 S Grand Ave, Waukesha, WI on Saturday March 13, 2021 at 10:00 AM, with a gathering beginning at 9:30 AM.
Memorials in Joyce’s name are appreciated and may be sent to “Bridge Church to be designated to the Compassion” (Bridge Church - Connecting People with Others & with God - Kingdom Builders) ministry” that meets the needs of people in our communities, they support local families in need.
