What a blessing Joyce was with her cooking and baking.ministry. Many folks were blessed by the gifts of her talents and Bob was always ready to deliver them for her.

Very sorry to hear the sad news of Joyce passing. We have been friends for a lot of years, traveled together, went to the same church for over 40 years. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake. They were both wonderful people. She will be missed by many.

Joyce Ann Dailey, 87, of The Plains, died Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2026 at The Lindley Inn, The Plains. Born December 28, 1938 in Keno, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Blaine Newell and Adda Stalnaker Newell.
A 1956 graduate of Shade High School, she was employed at McBee’s Corporation, City of Athens Water Department, and retired in food service from the Athens City School System.
She was a member of Jan’s Fans, Red Hat Society, Athens Senior Citizens and Albany Senior Citizens. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was happiest in the kitchen preparing meals. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling and wintering in Lakeland, Florida.
Joyce is survived by her son and daughter in law, Michael & Pam Dailey of The Plains; two grandchildren, Brad (Brandi) Hartley of Ann Arbor, MI and Jill (Dan) Pittman of The Plains; two great grandchildren, Isla Hartley and Ezra Pittman; three sisters, Lois Jean Ashcraft and her friend Dale, Barbara (David) Lindsey and Carolyn (Max) Burchfield; a sister in law, Shirley Dailey; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Robert G. Dailey, who passed away October 7, 2023; her son, Keith Eugene Dailey; a brother and sister in law, Harold & Betty Newell and her twin brother and sister in law, Royce & Lucille Newell; a sister in law & brother in law, Rose and Don Chambers; two brothers in law, Charles Dailey & Charles Ashcraft; a niece, Terri Chambers: a nephew, Scott Dailey; and her father in law and mother in law, Earl & Mabel Dailey.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, Athens with Rev. David Roach officiating. Burial will be in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (Central Ohio Chapter), 5200 Upper Metro Place #170, Dublin, OH 43017.
