Joyce's Obituary

Joyce Marlene (Ginder) Dromsky, 82, of Mainland PA, died on Friday afternoon, August 24, 2018. She was the wife of the late William (Bill) Stewart Dromsky, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Joyce passed gently and peacefully. She was in her own home, in her own bed. It was a beautiful sunny day with low humidity and the windows were open with fresh air billowing in. She was surrounded by her family.

Born November 8, 1935, in Lehighton PA, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Norma (Wehr) Ginder. She is predeceased by five older sisters and one brother.

Prior to retiring, Joyce worked with her husband Bill, son & daughter in the family business “Sportsmen’s Closet,” where she truly was all-things-organizational, complimentary to her husband's sales acumen. Prior to establishing the business, she was a long time employee of The Daily Corporation. There she worked in accounting and collections and was also fortunate to make some friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Joyce was understated and was not a fan of being the center of attention. It's probably one of the reasons she married Bill, he enjoyed the spotlight enough for the both of them. Over their 58 years of marriage, together they focused on family gatherings, family vacations, friends, cooking with farm fresh produce and finding the best breakfast spots, bacon, and sticky buns along the way! Joyce was raised in a rural community that is heavily steeped in Pennsylvania Dutch tradition. She always spoke very highly of her mother, regularly expressing how strong she was and how she could do anything. Her mother passed on her cooking skills. Joyce was a wonderful cook and baker, and she found it very important to keep homemade family recipes and traditions alive. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting around a kitchen table sharing food, friendship, and stories.

She is survived by a daughter Lisa Dromsky-Cleary and her husband Mark, a son Gary Dromsky and his wife Lita, and many loving extended family members and dear friends.

Joyce was a member of Christ Covenant Church of Harleysville. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 29th at 12:00 pm at the Church located at 2200 Mainland Road, Harleysville where the family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 11:45 am.
