Joyce's Obituary

Joyce Carolyn Cox Ferguson, born May 29th, 1935, ofDouglasville, GA and formerly of East Point, GA passed away onApril 6th, 2014 after a hard fought battle with cancer. She waspreceded in death by her parents, and her oldest son Jimmy ErwinFerguson Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years,Jimmy Erwin Ferguson Sr., her daughters Vickie Bouchillon,Terry and son in law Dr. Dan Martin, Carolyn Davis, BeckyDixon, Susan Brandon, her son George and daughter in law MaryVirginia Ferguson, her brother William Cox, her sister EmilyShinall, her sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren,and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ferguson was an activemember of First Baptist Church of East Point where she worked onnumerous committees and taught kindergarten. She retired fromRich’s at Greenbriar Mall where she was as a retail associate forover fifteen years. Mrs. Ferguson cherished life and her family. Avisitation will be held at the Donehoo-Lewis Funeral Home inHapeville, GA this Tuesday, April 8th, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00PM.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 9th, 2014 at11:00 AM in the chapel of First Baptist Church of East Point,  with Remains placed in state at 10:00 AM.  Burial will immediately follow at College Park Cemetery, College Park, GA.
