On behalf of the Shelby High School Class of 1962, I extend condolences to Joyce’s family as they deal with the loss of our classmate. We have many fond memories of her during our days as Golden Lions. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.

Joyce Hamilton Lail, 81, of Shelby passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Atrium Cleveland. She is the daughter of the late Conrad Wiseman Hamilton and Effie Ruby Bivins Hamilton of Shelby.
She enjoyed puzzle books, listening to Christian music, and watching cooking shows. Joyce had a fondness for Myrtle Beach and could spend hours shopping for a new handbag. She took pleasure in collecting clown figurines, which are displayed throughout her home. With over 30 years of experience in the textile industry, she worked as a spinner and made many lifelong friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Wayne Hamilton (Donna) of Georgia, son, Michael D. Lail (Amanda) of Shelby and daughter, Sherry Lail (Mark) of Shelby; six grandchildren, Nikki (Jake), Mikey (Candace), Hope, Hayden, Hayley, and Hunter; two great-grandson, Hudson, Maddox, Holly, Kaleb, Bethany, Paiten, Riley, and her beloved dog, Sirius.
A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025, at 3:00PM at Cecil Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
