Joyce's Obituary

Joyce Jones Snipes, 69, of Laurel Hill, Florida, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Joyce was born on November 28, 1956, to her loving parents, Ewell Henry Jones and Flora Bell Trotter.

Joyce was kind. She was humble. She lived her life with a servant’s heart, always placing the needs of others before her own. Anyone in need knew that Joyce would be the first to volunteer her time, her energy, and her love. She truly embodied the Scripture “love thy neighbor as thyself,” not simply reading the Word, but walking it out every day of her life.

She loved flowers, and this love was beautifully evident around her home. Joyce delighted in tending to her plants, caring for them gently and faithfully until her health no longer allowed her to do the work she once enjoyed so dearly.

Above all, Joyce cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother whose greatest joy came from the people she loved most. Her life was anchored in her faith in Jesus Christ, and that faith steadied her through every season of life.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Chad Snipes; and her son-in-law, Steven Hunter.

She is survived by her loving husband, Phil Snipes; her daughter, Jessica Hunter-Snipes; her brother, Ewell Jones (Belinda); her grandchildren, Hannah, Jayden, Alaya, and Brandon; her great-grandson, Skyler, and her nephew, Stephen Jones.

Funeral services for Joyce Snipes will be held 2PM Sunday, December 14th, at First Baptist Church of Laurel Hill, Florida, with Mike McVay officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Almarante Cemetery.

Joyce lived a life of quiet faithfulness, gentle love, and humble service. Her legacy will continue in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
