Juan Carlos “Chucky” Cortez, 48 entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 23, 2023, in Harlingen, Texas.
Juan was born on August 1, 1975, to Juan Carlos Cortez Sr. and Juana Idolina Castillo in Harlingen, Texas.
Juan, known as “Chuck”, JC attended Harlingen public schools. He had grown his hair very long and before his passing, he had donated his hair to the Locks of Hair.
Juan is preceded in death by his father, the late, Juan Carlos Cortez Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Romulo Castillo & Maria Idolina Castillo; paternal grandparents, Jose Placido Cortez & Eva Maria Cortez; his uncles, Eleazar Cortez & Omar Cortez Sr.; Romero Castillo Sr.
Juan leaves behind his loving mother, Juana Idolina Cortez; sister, Eva Idolina Cortez; and brother, Romulo Cesar Cortez.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the prayer of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Monday, December 4, 2023, with funeral mass at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Omar Cortez, Gabriel Cortez, Aaron Cortez, Lupe Cruz, Ruben Agado, and Leonel Cortez.
