Juanita was one of the most kind and gentle ladies I had the pleasure of getting to know. I always looked forward to seeing her and she was always so appreciative of the care I gave her. She was an angel Love and prayers for the family.

Juanita's Obituary

Juanita Henley Goad, 79 of Hillsville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at her home.  She worked and retired from Radford Ammunition Plant.  She was a loving mother of “Krissy” Slusser and spouse, Justin Wright.  Her heart was always with the Lord.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, and “at her fishing hole”.  She was a loving member of Resurrection Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Millie Henley; father, James Henley and also brothers, Robert Henley and Bill Henley.

Her surviving brothers and sisters include: Freddy Henley and spouse, Helen; Dorothy Smith and spouse, Tiny; Lois “MaMaw” Peterman and Curtis; Paul Henley and spouse, Dale; Linda Nichols; and Donald “Duck” Henley, all from Carroll County.  She had three grandchildren, Austin White, Kaitlynn Gilmer, and Bre DeHart followed by two great-grandchildren Shawn White and Austin “Peanut” White.  

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jody Short officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dry Pond Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
