Judith's Obituary

Judith Lorraine Johns was born in Seattle Washington on September 6, 1940. She was the oldest of five children and the only daughter born to Kenneth and Gladys Stovall. Judy enjoyed being daddy’s little princess. She grew up in a loving, nurturing household where she became a fierce protector of her younger brothers and enjoyed the roll of ‘second mom’ while in high school.

Judy graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle and briefly attended the University of Washington. While at the University, she made several Sorority Sister friends whom she kept in contact with until they all moved away or passed.

In her early twenties, Judy met and married the love of her life, William C. Johns. During their marriage of over four decades, they worked hard, lived in Seattle and the California bay area, traveled and enjoyed life by spending time with family, friends and loved ones.

Her love of family history and quest for maternal heritage information inspired her to undertake a detailed investigation of her mother’s family ancestry. After several years of research, she published a book that she shared with her maternal family members.

Judy cared deeply for her parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, close college sorority sisters and family friends. She wants all who remember her to reach out to those in need by supporting their local food bank, cancer research or literacy programs for children.
