Not sure what to say?

Judi was my sister-in-law, but we were truly the sisters we never had. We shared a lot, including breast cancer, and commiserated our experiences. We weren't able to travel in later years, so most of our conversations were on Zoom. She was an amazing partner to my brother Bob. She will be missed.

Judi was a gracious colleague and a great mentor. As a young teacher, she invited me to team teach a course with her. I learned loads--especially the fine art of being curious with every student so that they felt welcome and "seen." She was fun, bright, and could help absolutely any student feel grateful to be learning with her. In recent years, it was always delightful to see her and Bob at the symphony or at some justice gathering in Cincinnati. She was generous in every way and will be...

So sorry to hear this sad news. She was a wonderful lady. I had the pleasure of "taking care" of her and Bob for many years with DR Suntay and DR Raneses at Colerain Internal medicine. They were a happy, fun couple who always brought a smile to your face. May they RIP now they are back together with our Lord! Prayers to family and friends. Jody Ruehl

Thank you for accepting my offer to take my place at Mt. St. Joseph to enthusiastically continue the Women's Studies program. Now may you rest in peace.

Will never forget how much you helped me in my time of crisis! Thank you for brightening our lives!!!

You will be missed by so many. I'm glad we had the chance to grow up together.

I first met Judi during our first year of teaching at Seton High School; we both started in the English department at the same time. Though I left after five years, we remained good friends and spent several fun-filled weekends together, sharing teaching ideas and our writings. I was blessed to help Judi in the formation of her first novel, and we directed a couple of plays at Seton, plays written by Judi. She was a giving person with a great sense of humor, who will be missed. Many young...

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.

Judi was a dear friend and wonderful quilter. She will be truly missed ❤

Judith "Judi"'s Obituary

Judith L. “Judi” Sauerbrey (nee Ahlberg) passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born September 13, 1943, to the late Marian and William Ahlberg in Washington, DC. Judi was the beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Sauerbrey; cherished sister-in-law of Jim & Aggie Sauerbrey, Jan Stollenwerk, and Trini & the late Tom Sauerbrey; treasured friend of Linda Bonnell, Mike Newman, and Mike Smith; and granddaughter of her dear late grandmother, Lovetta.

Judi dedicated her life to education and service. She inspired countless students during her career as an English and Writing teacher at Seton High School and a professor of Women’s Studies at Mount Saint Joseph University. Her commitment to lifelong learning extended to the University of Cincinnati’s Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), where she and Bob were both teachers and learners. Their shared love for education created a unique bond and enriched the lives of many.

As a woman of deep faith, Judi was actively involved with the Sisters of Charity as an Associate. She generously volunteered her time with the Motherhouse and Bayley Place, embodying the spirit of selfless service.

Beyond her professional and volunteer endeavors, Judi found immense joy in her personal life. She and Bob shared a life filled with travel, evenings at the symphony, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Their annual Thanksgiving trip to Shakertown, Kentucky was a cherished tradition.
