Not sure what to say?

Our condolences for you three ladies on the loss of you mother, we are praying for you all.

One of the best caring school secretaries the school system ever had. Always kind and caring for the kids.

Judy was so fun to work with and my boys adored her when they attended Reedy Elementary School. Judy never failed to ask about how they were and what they were doing any time I saw her out and about. She was a wonderful person and mentor in how she treated students and coworkers. I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

My mother, Pat and I were heart broken to learn of Judy's passing!! She was a friend, neighbor and at one time a former coworker. She was a very nice lady who was always the same!! It is sad just knowing that she will no longer be a part of our community!! She will be missed!!

Love and prayers to each of you from both of us !!!

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I loved that I got to work with Judy and got to see her love and care for the children and the community first hand. She was always there for all the children (I always felt like I had another set of eyes on mine thank goodness) and her fellow employees. Judy was a big part of what kept Reedy running smoothly and efficiently. I loved her, loved the time I got to spend with her, and she will be missed! She was not ever just a co-worker but also a caring friend. Love and prayers to all of her...

In loving memory of a wonderful lady.

Sympathy and prayers from Randy and Bobbi Board. Judy was a wonderful woman!

Obituary

Judith "Judy"'s Obituary

Judy Lewellen Griffin, 80, of Reedy, West Virginia, passed away at her home on Sunday, Dec. 7, following complications from rapidly declining health. Born June 14, 1945, in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, to Frank and Beulah Clark, she moved to Roane County at a young age and lived on Middle Fork in Reedy for nearly her entire life.

A 1963 graduate of Spencer High School, Judy built a life centered on family, service, and community. She retired from the Roane County School System in 2007 after 20 years as an administrative secretary, most of them at Reedy Elementary. After retirement, she continued her dedication to others through the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council Foster Grandparent Program and the Senior Companion Program. She served as a Foster Grandparent for 16 years at Reedy Elementary and Spencer Primary, and as a Senior Companion for 8 years.

Known affectionately as “Grandma Judy,” she supported countless children in the region and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. Her ever-present camera captured school events and community activities, especially during the Black Walnut Festival parade and in the Livestock Barn exhibits.

Judy made friends everywhere she went—genuinely interested in people and their stories, always greeting others with a smile and happy to meet someone new.

As a mother, she devoted her life to her three girls, staying involved in their activities and standing by their side whenever they needed her most.

She is survived by her daughters, Angie (Ray) Shimp, Debbie (Manny) Pardal, and Nikki Stacy; grandchildren Thomas (Bobbi) Bartlett, Samuel Bartlett, Leah Bartlett, Isabel Pardal, and Patrick Stacy; her brother, Stanley (Becky) Clark; her sisters, Ruth Witte and Betty Wittebrodt; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony Griffin; her former spouse, Donald Lewellen; siblings Patricia Chapman and Billy Clark; her niece, Tasha Boggs; her nephew, Mickey Dale Sparks; her best friend, Linda Romine; and her foster parents, Floyd and Icy Atkinson.

Judy leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering support for the community she cherished. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer.
