Judy's Obituary

Judy Annette Nicholas, aged 73, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Judy, born March 30, 1952, and one of eleven children to the family of  Glen and Modine Parson.

She attended the Lee Co Public Schools.  At the end of her junior year, on May 16, 1969, Judy married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy Nicholas.  With pride and devotion, Judy embraced her role as a wife, and homemaker. She became the mother of two daughters and cherished every moment of a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. 

As a woman of great faith, Judy was an active member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church, and a teacher at the Gospel Lighthouse Christian School. Her faith was a guiding light in her life.

Judy's career spanned over 20 years as a storekeeper at Ligons Store, where she was a familiar, friendly face to many. Her life was a testament to the power of love, family, friendship and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her loved ones.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Modine Parson, her loving husband Jimmy Nicholas, and her sisters Christine Cupp and Betty Butterworth. 

She is survived by her loving daughters, Jena Caldwell (Travis) of Moro and Janie Herndon (Rodney) of The Village, FL. Her legacy also continues through her cherished brothers David, Bobby, Billy, Tony, Glen, and Rick Parson, her sisters Paula Sandage and Barbara Hindsley, her four grandchildren Brittany Bullard, Shannon Perry, Corey Herndon, and Marshal Caldwell, six great grandchildren, and a host of adored nieces and nephews.
