Julie's Obituary

Julie E. Verne, 71. Watertown, wife of Anthony “Tony” Verne, passed away October 16th, 2025, at their home with her family at her side and under the direction of Hospice of Jefferson County.

A Celebration of Life will be held on a day, time, and location to be announced.  Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.

Julie is survived by her husband Tony; her son Gary Cook, Syracuse, her daughter Autumn Cook, Charlotte, NC; her grandson Ryan; two granddaughters Kali and Chandler; four great grandchildren, Kooper, Karter, Kaine and Kelvin; her sister Cathy Cook, Oregon and her brother Kip Schultz, Syracuse.

Julie was born in Carthage, April 3, 1954, a daughter to Howard and Jane Peck Shultz. She was a 1973 graduate of Carthage Central High School and Jefferson BOCES Cosmetology.  She was a quality control inspector at Covidian until she retired due to health issues.

Julie married Anthony Verne on May 17th, 1995.

Julie was a member of the Watertown Elks and Black River American Legion Auxillary.  She was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Syracuse University Basketball.  She and tony enjoyed their Friday night dinners with Bob and Kathy Overton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY  13601.
