We offer our deepest condolences during this difficult time

Ms. Abel was a great math teacher, and I was thankful to be in her Algebra class. Later when I took a more advanced math, I would go to her for help as she could explain math in a way that I understood. I was always grateful for her help.
Later in life, she also became my friend. We have been in touch the last several years, and I will certainly miss her texts and sending her cards.
My condolences go to her family and friends.

Abel Family,
So sorry to hear about Miss Abel passing. Count me in as one who personally witnessed her classroom as a place of patience, encouragement and genuine care for my success as both a student and colleague. My best to her family at this difficult time.

Karen was an outstanding teacher of mathematics. She seemed to instinctively know how to clarify even difficult concepts. I am proud to have been her colleague in the Elwood Schools. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

She could explain math so we all understood it and was so sweet.

She was the most caring teacher and person. She genuinely cared about her students she did everything to make office hours accessible and learning fun! She had a great sense of humor, and I will always have a special place for Ms. Abel.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Fellow high school graduate with her and fond memories Cliff Clonan

Prayers!
