Not sure what to say?

Karen was a great mentor when I first became a member of the Board of Education. I was fortunate to have served many years with her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Karen was an extraordinary woman and one of the best board members on a very talented Clarkston Board of Education. As Board President, she navigated challenging times with grace and intelligence; and always with respect for her fellow citizens. As Superintendent of Schools, I found her to be a thoughtful, kind, caring and accomplished board member. After we left Clarkston, we stayed in touch. Arlene and I feel fortunate to have had her friendship! Our prayers are with her family and...

I’m so sorry to learn of the loss of my good friend. Such treasured memories of our years of breakfasts together at the Clarkston Big Boy!

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved mother. Aunt Karen’s kindness, warmth, and loving spirit touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. May you find peace, comfort, and strength as you hold onto the beautiful memories she leaves behind.

Loving wife, mother, and grandmother. We will miss you and you’ll always be in our hearts.

The Schussmeisters Ski Club never had the honor of meeting Karen, but we have been fortunate to know her son, Mark. It is often said that you can see the reflection of a parent’s love and character in their children, and Karen’s kindness and strength clearly shine through in Mark. He has been a true gentleman and a dedicated friend to our club, a testament to the values she instilled in him. Please know that our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with Mark and his family during this time of...

I’m saddened to hear of Karen’s passing. Karen was a staunch advocate for children and education. I learned much from her as a trustee.

She was a great board member, loved Clarkston.
