Not sure what to say?

Amy, Laura and families. We are so sorry about the loss of your MOM. We enjoyed our friendship for many years. She and Mike were the example for marriage, parenting, and friendship. We treasure our friendship. I know you girls will miss her terribly. But take comfort she will join your Dad, Nicole and Nathan and many more in heaven. We love you all. Lou and Virgie Carter

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

What a sweet young lady, like her mom always taking care of someone. Her delight was her pet, MAGGIE MAE!

Kathy was absolutely one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. She loved her family so much and always updated me on how everyone was doing. She and Mike were very special and I remember her with her cute little dog coming over to tend to her Gold Canyon business, she enjoyed. She was proud to have a way to help earn money during retirement. She was always cheerful even during challenging times with Mikes health. We shared a little business together, prayers, tears, laughter and a friendship...

I have known Kathy since elementary school. Her beautiful smile, perfect hair and easy manner will stay with me forever. My heart is broken. I will miss her until I see her again.

You will be deeply missed, Kathy. Loved connecting with you when we came to visit. Praying for your girls and your family during this time. Lots of love ~ Rodger & Fran

Beautiful person. Taken to soon

She will be greatly missed. I talked with her on Facebook alot. Her late husband Mike was my cousin. And I know she is very happy being with Mike again now.

Kim and I were flower girls in Kathy and Mike's wedding. I remember thinking what a beautiful bride she was and that she had a most handsome groom. Remembering you all in our prayers.

Obituary

Katherine's Obituary

Katherine Rickman Adams, 73 years young and a faithful servant of the Lord was reunited with loved ones unexpectedly May 19, 2025. Raised a Hampton girl, she graduated from Bethel High School in 1970, the first graduating class in the new high school. She met the love of her life, Michael at church in 1971, lived in Tennessee for a short time, had two daughters and also lived in Washington state from 1974 to 1980 where they had many friends that they kept in touch with over the years.

Kathy enjoyed playing the piano or any keyboard in several churches over the years. She played by ear as often as she could, her music was so peaceful when she played without music. She loved her family, spending time with them and when time allowed enjoyed going on beach trips with the girls.

Kathy had a few jobs over the years, but she would quickly tell you her most rewarding job was driving the school bus for special needs children in York County. Kathy usually had a smile for anyone she met and would help friends and family when she could.

She is now reunited with her one and only love Mike; her parents, Ed  Shirley Rickman, her sister, Sandra Tosh; her granddaughter, Nicole Burke and grandson. Nathan Faison. Kathy leaves behind her loving daughters Aimee Faison (Troy) and Laura Adams;  grandchildren, Brennan Adams (Felicia) , Nicholas Faison (Lily), Natalie Faison and Brooke Zimmerman; her brother, Tom Rickman (June); brothers-in-law, Don Adams (Neva), Gene Adams (Vicky); numerous nieces and nephews, and many cousins who she loved dearly.  She was also blessed with two great-grandsons.

We find comfort knowing she has been reunited with loved ones and with her Lord.

A time of visitation with the family will be from 5:30 - 7 PM prior to the  celebration of Kathy's life at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025, both at R Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton.
