Katherine Belmont Stadheim, 82, passed away peacefully in Fox Point, WI, on August 13, 2025. She was preceded in death by Rolf O. Stadheim, her loving husband of 39 years.Kathy was born April 9, 1943, to Ann and Frank Belmont of Winnetka, IL. She and her two sisters grew up surrounded by their grandparents, aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins, creating a close and passionate family connection. She rode her favorite Pinto pony daily, often riding him to school. Kathy attended Crow Island School, Skokie Jr. High School and New Trier High School, class of 1961, all located in Winnetka. She received her associate degree in Art at Stephens College in Columbia, MO.Kathy loved life, which was easily identified by her big smile and memorable laugh. She will be remembered for her enthusiasm, friendship, and artistic and creative talent. Kathy loved spending time with her friends and family in Winnetka, IL, Scottsdale, AZ, and Frankfort, MI. Whether she was dining out, coordinating fun events, or hosting wonderful parties, Kathy was always up for a good time. She was a beautiful and competitive athlete in tennis, golf, curling, and downhill skiing. Kathy volunteered at the Winnetka Congregational Church Annual Rummage Sale for many years, bringing her fun spirit to each department she worked. She was a member of the North Shore Art League and the Chicago Curling Club.Kathy and her husband Rolf traveled extensively throughout the world. They searched for unusual objects and special artwork to decorate their beautiful homes and met interesting people along the way.Kathy is survived by her sons Michael Sangston and Timothy (Wendy) Sangston; her sisters Nancy Seabury and Fran Lambert; her stepdaughters Kirsten Stadheim (Erich Wefing), Jenny (Jack) Keller, Erika (David) Kreisa, and Abby (Mark) Crawley; three nieces, 13 grandchildren, and numerous good friends.Interment will be private. A celebration of life to honor Kathy is planned for fall 2025.The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Azura Palliative Care and Hospice of WI.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Kathy's name to Alzheimer's Foundation of America and PAWS Chicago.
