Kathleen Emmett (nee Ricciardi)
Age 70 of Crown Point, formerly of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Kathleen was a devoted wife of 50 years to her beloved husband, John Emmett; son, Kevin (Kimberly) Emmett; daughters, Cheryl (Charles) Elliott, and Carla (Michael) Sierra; grandchildren: Carter, Chase, Michael, Charlotte, Cambria and Camila, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her dear sister, Lea (Leon Nadolski) Hott; nieces and nephews: Barbara (Fred) Woerner, Brooke (Christian) Alexander, Carmello (Cassie) Ricciardi, Ashley (Ross) Nusbaum, Allsion Emmett, and Abigail Emmett; as well as cousins and friends who will deeply miss her warmth and kindness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carmello and Patricia Ricciardi, and her brothers, Thomas Ricciardi and Michael Ricciardi.
Kathleen had several jobs. She worked at First National Bank in East Chicago, Our Lady of Constellation church as a faith formation teacher and many years at Toys r us. However her full time job, the one she loved the most, was talking care of her family. She lived a life defined by unwavering support for her children and grandchildren. She was the family's biggest cheerleader, always present for every recital, game, and milestone, celebrating every success with immense pride. Having lunch with her mom was among her most favorite ways to spend the afternoon. She loved the magic of Walt Disney World and treasured the memories made there with her kids and grandkids. She had a passion for the outdoors and found joy in camping and fishing, relishing the quiet and the peace of a campfire under the stars.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM with Father Gregory A. Bim-Merle officiating. Services conclude at the funeral home.
