Kathleen's Obituary

Dover - Kathleen Anne Menounos, 70, lost her courageous battle against cancer Wednesday May 15, 2012, she died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 14, 1942 in Dover, New Hampshire daughter of Kathleen (Goggin) Durkin and John J. Durkin. Kathleen Anne graduated from Saint Mary High School, and the Peter Bent Brigham Nursing School in Boston. She devoted her professional life to helping others, working as a registered nurse at Wentworth Douglass Hospital, Seabrook Treatment Center, and for Drs. Draper and Smith.She is survived by her loving husband Peter of 47 years, her three sons Gregory (Watertown, MA), Christopher (Seabrook, NH), and Brian (British Columbia, Canada), her grandchildren Nathan, Orrin, and Martha Anne. Her surviving siblings include John Durkin (Dover, NH), Jeremiah Durkin (Kennebunk, ME), Lawrence Durkin (Baltimore, MD), Mary Abernathy (Lenexa, VA), Helen Twomey (Newburyport, MA), and Sheila Stockbower (Wakefield, MA). Her loving family also includes Mary 'Fuzzy' Kemen, Martha Bstantig, Kathleen Males, and Jane BerryKathleen Anne was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Paul, Dominic, James, and Philip, and her sister Margaret Rose Lawrence. Kathleen is loved by all and will be forgotten by none. Friends are invited to call Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Parish of the Assumption, St. Mary Church, corner of Chestnut & Third Sts. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Anyone wishing to honor Kathleen's memory may make a donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in St. Augustine Parish, 43 Essex St., Andover, MA, 01810.
