I am truly sorry that I missed her services. Kathy was a true friend, even though we didn’t see each other often, we didn’t skip a beat when we did. She is resting now in the arms of Jesus. I love you my friend, we will meet again one day.

Kathy Sanchez peacefully passed away at her residence on January 23,2026 at the age of 72. Kathy was born and raised in Midland and wouldn’t have lived anywhere else. She attended private and public school and graduated from Midland High School in1971. She met her husband Arturo Sanchez and after only knowing each other for 3 months they were married on May 5, 1978. Kathy had several jobs but her last one before retiring was Midland College as the Nursing Clerk. She loved what she did and how she could help all the students make their dreams come true. Kathy was there for 10 years when she had to retire due to medical reasons.
Anyone that knows Kathy knows that she is compassionate, thinks about others, and loving. Kathy was a worry wart and would always worry about her family and if they were safe. She thought about others before herself and would lend a helping hand when she could. If you asked Kathy for something she was guaranteed to come through.
Kathy is survived by her husband Arturo Sanchez of Midland, TX , her daughter Lisa Betancourt (Sam) of Midland, TX, her sons Paul Villa (Maya) of Fountain, CO, Art Sanchez (Penny) of Tracy, CA,her sisters Mary Ann Mancha of Midland, TX, Lupe Dominguez, Big Spring, TX, and her brother Jack Sanchez, Al. Along with 7 grand kids that she loved more than anything Dustin, Joseph, Kayla, Paul, Jacob, Joshua, Gabriel, Jake, and Kilye, and 1 great grand daughter Leanna.
She is preceded in death by her mother Elena Sanchez, her father Ciro Sanchez, her brothers Johnny Mancha and Ramon Mancha, her sister Rosie Sanchez, her niece, Cynthia Flores, her nephew Kris Mancha, and her mother in law and father in law Monceis and Simona Sanchez.
There will be a memorial service on Feb 7 , 2026 from 11-3 at Our Lady of Guadalupe. It will be held in the San Juan Diego building. There will be a rosary and a meal to follow.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Bobbie, her hospice nurse. Thank you for always being there for her.
