Kathleen Lillian Scott, 77, of Wichita Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
The Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. A Celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the chapel of Owens & Brumley with Pastor Chad Stubblefield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
Kathleen was born on June 30, 1948, in Menno, South Dakota, to the late Otto and Miletta (Stern) Edelman. Her family later moved to Wichita Falls, where she graduated from Wichita Falls High School. Shortly after, she began her long and dedicated career at Wichita Falls State Hospital, where she worked for 30 years as an Administrative Assistant before retiring in 2007. Her colleagues remember her as dependable, compassionate, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Kathleen found great joy in life’s simple moments — casting a line on a quiet lake, sharing laughter with loved ones, and celebrating her favorite time of year, Christmas. She loved everything about the holiday season — from decorating her home with lights and ornaments to baking cookies and finding the perfect gifts for her grandchildren. Her warmth, generosity, and sense of fun made every Christmas gathering sparkle a little brighter.
Family was the center of Kathleen’s world. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who took pride in her family’s accomplishments and found deep happiness in their togetherness. Her love was steady, her advice wise, and her presence a comforting constant.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley McClung and Norma Pierson.
Kathleen is lovingly remembered by her brother, Daniel Edelman of Arlington; two sons, Cory Scott and wife Cara of Auburn, Alabama, and Kenneth Scott of Wichita Falls; three cherished grandchildren, Cole Scott and wife Natalia of Atlanta, Georgia, Camryn Scott of Atlanta, Georgia, and Keaton Scott of Wichita Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her warmth and grace.
Her family takes comfort in knowing that Kathleen’s kindness, strength, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her — especially each time they cast a fishing line or gather around the Christmas tree to share stories and laughter, just as she loved to do.
