Obituary of Kathleen M. Seckendorf
Kathleen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. On May 30, 1934 of parents Matthew and Margaret McGuinn. She married Paul Seckendorf in Brooklyn in 1957. Three of their children: Mary, Rob and Tim were also born in Brooklyn. They moved to Pleasantville, N.Y. In 1961 where they were blessed with two more children: Edward and Paul.
The family moved to Tustin, California in 1972 and subsequently lived in Atherton, CA, La Habra Heights, CA and retired in Fallbrook in San Diego, County.
Kathleen was an avid student. Between having children and interrupted by job opportunities that required moving, she attended St. John’s University, Adelphi College, Pasadena City College and finally getting her degree from Cal State Fullerton.
Once the children were old enough she returned to work, mostly in marketing related positions in the computer field. During their last ten years of work she worked with Paul and traveled extensively for business.
Kathleen was diagnosed in 2003 with advanced dementia and subsequently Alzheimer’s. She died from respiratory complications from COVID-19.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Kathleen’s funeral will be at St. Peter the Apostle in Fallbrook on January 29th at 11:00AM and interment will be at Mission of San Louis Rey, Oceanside, CA.
She was a lifelong devout Catholic and was very active in church and related activities.
