I have many fond memories of Kathy from WG Rice. Kathy was such a caring person and loved by all. I was returning a few books to her library the morning of 911. We both stood there in shock. Not exactly a fond memory, but one that sure stands out. I’ll never forget you, Kathy. I know you will be watching over your family from Heaven.

Kathy and I shared a close friendship and great working relationship at W.G. Rice Elementary School. There are so many memories and laughs that keep me smiling. She enjoyed good food and I was fortunate to enjoy many of her gourmet dinners. Every bite was better than the next! I always enjoyed looking around her home at the small trinkets on the shelves. When we weren’t sharing recipes, we talked about family, travel, and new adventures. The trip to NYC when several colleagues turned 50...

I met Kathy in Library School at Geneseo in 1975 and we have been in touch ever since.....Kathy, I will miss getting long emails from you full of loving stories of your family in NY! I still fondly recall your visit to me in Maine, and I hoped that you would be able to visit here in Charleston. There are few friendships that span nearly 50 years, and I will miss you, dear Librarian buddy! Heidi, please know that your Mom is held in deep regards in my heart.....

Kathy was a good friend that I met when we both worked at the Greenwood’s restaurant she was that rare type that had personality , good looks & cool !!! as a busboy I cleaned the tables off expeditiously and Kathy shared her tips with me we both knew early on that a complete education helped pave the way to success and personal growth our shared maxim being , “ Education is the best Investment you can make for yourself or for others “ gonna miss my little green-eyed soul mate !!! bob...
