Kathy's Obituary

ABINGDON, VA

Kathy Ann Mays Hagy age 73 of Abingdon VA was born on August 23, 1951, and passed away on March 27, 2025, after a brief illness and hospitalization. She became an EMT in 1990.  

Kathy was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and camper who liked to travel. She enjoyed gardening and tending to house plants, crafting, woodworking, making wreathes and dream catchers. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Allen Hagy; daughter Trina Lynn Gullett; father Henry Mays, Jr.; and her mother and stepfather who raised her Betina Carol McCoy Mays Gullett & Donald Gullett. 

Survivors include her children Shaunna Lynne Hagy Wilson and husband Darel, Heather Renee Hagy Rice and husband Donald, Brandon Shane Hagy and wife Rhonda; grandchildren Tifani McHam and Sarah Eure, Joshua Hess, Kayleb Hess, Courtney Rice Eames, Jacob Rice, Talaya Hagy, Mercedes Hagy, Gabriella Hagy, and Samuel Hagy; great grandchildren Kaitlyn Jarvis, Kimberly Thomas, Haley Gullett, Jadyn Gullett Johnathan Dortch, Makayla Dooley, Raelynn Dooley, Jackson Dooley, Emmett Eames, Autumn Poston, Logan Poston, Christian Hess, and Graicyn Hess; great-great grandchildren Dylan Dortch and Ahmeriy Williams; she also leaves behind her best friend Kyle Woodward, and her cat Kittenen. 

Memorial services will be held at 5:00PM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, from the Bradley’s Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie with Rev. John Paul officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:00PM, on Saturday evening at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help the family with final expenses. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is serving the Hagy Family.
