Katina “Tina” Gornick age 63, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Brianna; fiancé, Thomas Jones; siblings, Marlenee Provenzano, John (Jo Ellen) Klut, Darlene (late, Larry) Pruitt, Jason (Tina) Klut, Brian (Julie) Klut, and Sheryl Jones; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, loving aunts, and her dear grandmother. She was preceded in death by her stillborn son, Joseph Dale Gornick; parents, Georgetta and Raymond Frueh; father, John R. Klut; brother, Bobby Klut.
Katina was a devoted member of Black Oak Baptist Church and cherished her faith deeply. She loved her family dearly and will be remembered for the warmth, kindness, and joy she brought to every gathering. Katina was an avid bingo player, a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, a music lover, and a true animal enthusiast including her own “Charlie, Minnie May, Meeko, Bear-Bear and her loving Precious”.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Solan – Pruzin Funeral Home, 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond, Indiana 46324. Funeral services will be held at Solan – Pruzin Funeral Home, Hammond, Indiana, on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana, with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating.
Katina will be remembered for her devotion to her family, and the love she shared with all that knew her.
