Kattie's Obituary

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”   John 14:1-3

Kattie Lucille Bozman Box was born on February 11, 1945, in Prescott, Arkansas, to the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Zachary) Bozman. On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the age of 80, Kattie peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories.

At an early age, Kattie accepted Christ at St. Luke A.M.E. Church in Prescott. Later in life, she united with Munns Chapel Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as a devoted member of the choir and the Women of Purpose Women’s Ministry. She was often requested to lead her favorite song, “He's been Good to Me,” a reflection of her grateful and faithful spirit.

Kattie was a proud member of the McRae High School Class of 1964 and played the clarinet in the Marching Tigers Band.

A dedicated and hardworking woman, Kattie held several jobs throughout her life. Her longest tenure was with Potlatch Lumber Company, where she faithfully served for nine years before retiring. Even in retirement, her heart for children and service led her to work as a foster grandparent at Bright Beginnings Day Care. She also lovingly served as a babysitter and nanny to many children throughout the community—each one affectionately known as her “babies.”

Kattie found great joy in cooking and spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Known for her warm spirit, she truly never met a stranger.

On December 1, 1962, Kattie was united in marriage to Ray Box. From this union, two children, Ronald and Debra, were born, and they later adopted Danielle.

Kattie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray Box; a daughter, Debra; a grandchild, Dorian; and seven siblings: Leotis, Mae Ruth, Bobbie, Raymond, Johnnie, Leonard, and Robert.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her son, Ronald Box (Pam), and her daughter, Danielle Loe (Drew), both of Prescott. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren: Lekecia Box, Megan Box Horton, Jalan Box (Marqueeta), and Ron’Darious Cone; and her great-grandchildren: Tywan Thompson, Tidorian Turney, Tyron Toliver, Tavan Toliver, Calek Smith, Aiyden Box, Andrea Loe, Madison Horton, Kenley Box, and Jaytan Box.

She is also survived by her loving sister, Margaret Meeks; her best friend, Inez Moreland; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, classmates, friends, and all of the children she loved so dearly, along with many other relatives and friends.

Kattie's Homegoing Celebration will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Munn's Chapel First Baptist Church in Prescott. A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 2, 2026, at Brandon's Mortuary in Hope, Arkansas. Her online guestbook is available below. Brandon’s Mortuary is honored to serve the family with dignity and care.
