Kelly and Anita loved road trips, often to Rama, listening to 80's hard rock and Willie’s Roadhouse country music. They took a 10-day trip, driving to BC and Vancouver Island for Anita’s 40th birthday. After Kelly’s first round of chemotherapy, they went to Smithers, BC, where Kelly "played" with a black bear discovered up a tree 10 feet away from them. They were avid concert goers to all kinds of music concerts and Broadway across Canada productions. Their favorite area to take quick trips to, was Jasper, AB, where they would hike and sit by the river, enjoying the scenery. At home, they enjoyed many backyard fires and would listen to the fire crackle then play music. In his spare time, Kelly loved fishing and sports, watched NHL hockey on TV, and attended many games while in Edmonton. He also attended 3 CFL Grey Cup games.Kelly was fun hearted, making his employees laugh at work and his family at home. He was always smiling and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.Kelly was predeceased by his grandparents: John and Antonia Yawney and Michael and Margaret Kresak; mother-in-law, Joyce Fischer, and his uncles and aunt, Ernest Yawney, Peter Okrainetz, and Evelyn Lemko.
