Kenneth Lee Baker, 75, of Leon, WV, passed away February 27, 2026 in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV, following a sudden illness. He was born September 2, 1950, in Leon, WV, a son of the late Lloyd Jasper, and N. Emogene (Miller) Baker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Karl Lloyd Baker; sister, Marilyn (Baker) Smith; two infant brothers and one infant son; niece, Cindy Smith.He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School with the class of 1968. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War from July of 1970 until February of 1972. He was honorably discharged and served with the 21st Battery Artillery Battalion as a truck and heavy equipment mechanic. He was stationed in Germany and received the National Defense Medal for sharp shooting with his M-16 rifle. Before and after his time in the Army he worked for Westinghouse then he was employed by American Electric Power for 38 years as a Unit Operator at the John Amos Plant. Kenny spent much of his time with his hobby farm, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Betty Lou (Snodgrass) Baker; son, Joey Baker of Leon, WV; daughters, Angie (Daniel) Thomas of Point Pleasant and Nancy (Frank) Davison of Rio Grande, OH; five grandchildren, Luke, Marissa and Brooklyn Thomas all of Point Pleasant and Benjamin and Jenna Davison both of Rio Grande, OH; nephew Mike (Dana) Smith and great nieces, Haley Wallace and Brooke Smith all of Jackson, New Jersey. Service will be 1 p.m. ~ Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV with Pastor Chris Leas officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, Point Pleasant, WV. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
