Kenneth Edward KlostermanKen was born in 1927 in Breckenridge Minnesota, the son of Frank and Coren Klosterman (Puetz). He grew up on dairy farms in Wahpeton, North Dakota and Morris, Minnesota. At age 17, he enlisted in the Navy where he was trained as a medic. He was awaiting orders to be deployed to Japan when the thankful news came that the war had ended. As a young man he achieved his dream of getting his pilot's license and loved all things aeronautical. In 1952 he was united in marriage to Dolores McDaniels and they moved to Anoka to start a family. He worked for Northwestern Bell for 40-plus years in many positions, including a long run as Central Office foreman of the Anoka office and retired from Circuit Design Services in downtown Minneapolis. He was a long-time member of the Telephone Pioneers and the parish of St Katherine-Drexel. Ken was a consummate tinkerer, his ultimate project building the family home on three acres in what was then rural Ramsey. He continued to enjoy the birds and other wildlife there, keeping his backyard a mini oasis as the suburbs grew and surrounded him. He enjoyed travel, keeping abreast of current events, deer hunting, fishing, football, gardening, genealogy, and being the first to own any new gadget. We will miss his daily love, enduring faith, wry sense of humor, campfire tales and big bear hugs.Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dolores. Ken will be deeply missed by his loving children, Barbara (Steve) Lieske, James (Terry), Gail (Greg Snyder), John (Laura Christie), Nancy (Henry) Ahrens; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Jere) Klosterman; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
