Kenneth's Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Selph, 83, of Denton, passed away surrounded by his family on February 11, 2026.

Ken was born in Garrison, Texas, on May 31, 1942, to Steve Pershing Selph. and Dorothy Louise (Payne) Selph. He was a graduate of New London High School and went on to earn his degree from North Texas State University in 1964. On August 22, 1964, Ken married Judy Kay Knowles at Cole Chapel in Denton, Texas. As newlyweds, the couple moved to Hamilton, Texas where Ken was a Biology teacher and Coach. Together, Ken and Judy were devoted members of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where Ken faithfully served as an elder.

Ken worked for Texas Instruments for many years as supervisor of the semi-conductor line. In his early years, when Judy worked with the Sanger Public Library, the library needed shelving and Ken stepped in, building all of it by hand to help prepare the space for its patrons.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 61 years, Judy K. Selph of Denton; two daughters, Sammae and husband (Brent) of Sanger, and Jessica and (fiancé, Zach) of Lubbock; brother, Jerry Selph and wife Sharon of Gainesville; sister LindaWilladson and husband Joey of Linden; brother Bruce Selph and wife Brenda of White Oak.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, Hope (Bill) Fenwick, Zoe McAlister (fiancé, Thomas) Cole McAlister (wife Jessie Rowland), Brady, Bergynn and Peyton as well as five great- grandchildren, Graham, Harrison, Fallon, Ruby, and Rain.
