Not sure what to say?

Great lawyer! Better person! As a young lawyer with a real estate question, Ken was my first and only call. He always had time and never made me feel inadequate. Enjoyed Ken and Linda;s company at many social events too. And a Sylvania kid. Heard all about his dad's barber shop on Monroe Street in Sylvania.

God be with you

A credit to our profession, he always took time to share his real estate expertise with all of the lawyers who sought his advice on a real estate matter. He was our GURU!
Rest in peace everybody's friend.

Already, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family . Your Dad was a fantastic man. Now he's with your mom!❤

In loving memory of a dear friend and very sweet man. I will miss all our fun talks in the mornings and the pictures you drew. We will love you and miss you always Ken.

THE real estate law expert in Toledo for my entire career. A gridiron legend. And a real nice guy.

Ken was not simply another real estate lawyer, he was the Dean of real estate lawyers in our community. He was undeniably the go-to expert for all kinds of intricate and difficult real estate matters. Beyond his superb acumen in his chosen field, he was simply a great gentleman. RIP

That same year, he was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio and later admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and to the Supreme Court of the United States of America. For more than six decades, Ken served the profession of law with exceptional dedication. He was widely regarded as one of the region's leading authorities on real estate law and title practice.

Ken's professional service was extensive and influential. He was a member of the Toledo Bar Association since 1961, serving as its President from 1984 to 1985 and as a member of its Board of Trustees from 1976 to 1986; Sustaining Fellow of the Toledo Bar Association Foundation and Trustee of The Toledo Law Association. That committee was responsible for selecting, acquiring, and renovating what is now the Toledo Bar Association headquarters at 311 North Superior Street-a lasting and visible legacy of his leadership.

Ken was deeply committed to mentoring young lawyers and to the collegial life of the bar. For many, many years he was an active songwriter and performer in the Toledo Junior Bar Association's annual Gridiron Show. In recognition of his selfless service, he received the Junior Bar's prestigious "Order of the Heel" Award in 1978 and the "Order of the Sole" Award in 2012.

He was the author of Real Estate Practice, Forms and Comments, published by the Toledo Bar Association in 1976 and widely used by attorneys, paralegals, and laypersons across Ohio. The work became a teaching resource at The University of Toledo College of Law and in paralegal programs at The University of Toledo, Capital University, and The Ohio State University. He also authored Real Estate Documents: Drafting and Execution, published since 1993.

Beyond the law, Ken lived a life rich in fellowship and creativity. He was a member of the Tile Club of Toledo, an historic organization of artists, musicians, and authors founded in 1895. Ken found great joy in golf, deer hunting - especially his annual trip with son Ken Jr, brother Bill and nephews. He had a tremendous love of poetry, songwriting and legal writing. One of his proudest personal accomplishments was scoring a hole-in-one on August 17, 2001, on the 14th hole at The Sylvania Country Club.

Kenneth I. White, Sr., leaves behind a legacy of professional excellence, intellectual generosity, artistic creativity, and deep devotion to family and community. He will be remembered not only as an extraordinary lawyer and teacher, but as a mentor, a friend, and a man who gave fully of his talents to make his profession and his city better.

Ken was laid to rest next to his beloved wife Linda in a private family burial. May he forever bring love, friendship and entertainment to the sky’s above.

In his memory, do a simple kind act to help another person, possibly a stranger, experience joy and laughter.

“The Flickering Candle”

As the candle flickers, the mind reviews in time.

The early days, those humble days, where dreams begot challenges and challenges were met with accomplishments.

Jobs were established, friendships and bonds were made and families did grow.

Success was at hand, relative to goals sought. Each claimed a place in line.

That line continues still, on and on, as memories march along.

The candle flickers high and low. For some the flames gave out. But time alone will not erase joys of the past, enthusiasm of the present, and hope for the future.

The flickering candle burns, ever so bright both in memory and in life.
