Kenneth Lee Wilkirson, of Wichita Falls, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 24, 2021, at the age of 88.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, July 30, 2021 at Heritage Assembly of God. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home.
Kenneth was born June 13, 1933, in San Angelo, Texas, to the late Oscar and Dorothy (Howard) Wilkirson. He married the love of his life, Virginia McGee, on September 30, 1951.
Drafted into the Army in 1953, Kenneth became a radio operator stationed in New Jersey and achieved the rank of Corporal. After being discharged, Kenneth began a career in the oil field, working for Cox Operating Company. He went on to become part owner of Wichita Well Service, and eventually retired as vice president of Cox Operating Company in 2000.
In retirement, Kenneth quickly became fond of woodworking and making pens. He enjoyed ushering and greeting people at Heritage Assembly of God, and loved hosting events at “His Place.” Above all else, Kenneth devoted his life to honoring God and always looked for ways to glorify Him.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter Elaine Wilkirson McMillan; brothers Oscar and Lynn Wilkirson, and sister Marguarite Markgraf-Cogburn.
