Kevhen's Obituary

Kevhen R. Adkins, age 73 of Williamson was welcomed into Heaven on Sunday, September 21, 2025, surrounded by his family.  Kevhen was born on October 23, 1951, in West Virginia to Bobbie R. Adkins and Mildred M. Adkins who were waiting for him as he entered his Heavenly home.  Kevhen had made his living as a UMWA Coal Miner until his retirement and then spent several years serving our community working on the State Road.

Those left to cherish his precious memory include, first and foremost, the love of his life, his beloved wife Terri and his faithful little companion Bella.  They built a life together loving the Lord and attending church and making their family the focus of their lives.  Also, left behind to carry on his amazing legacy are his children: Lisa (Jack) Smith, Scott (Gaye) Adkins, Trena (Davey) Dingess, Michael (Kelly) Bucci, Chris (Alicia) Bucci, and Shannon (Scott) Hurst.  Grandchildren include: Kandace Adkins, Joseph (Tarha) Bucci, Austin Williams, Alex Bucci, Charleigh Adkins, McKenna Hurst, and Alivia Bucci.  Great-Grandchildren: Jaelyn, Berik, Mariah, Anyiah, and Luka. His brother Stanley (Sarah) Adkins and Sister Elaine (Virgil) Lovejoy and many many other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews that will carry him in their hearts forever.

Kevhen loved the Lord more than anything else and was so proud of his faith.  He was happy to spread the gospel everywhere he went and gave his “most precious and gracious heavenly father” thanks for ALL things constantly.  He was a very active member of the Tug River Community Church and attended every time he was able and always happy to help in any way possible.  He loved his time and routine with his wife Terri and little side kick Bella.  He loved going down to the building and playing Cornhole with his buddies or playing tournaments with his team Four Aces.  We must mention his achievements of being the Senior WV Cornhole Champion in. Along with Bowling a perfect game many years ago.

Kevhen had a heart of gold and always wanted to help others. He loved to laugh and had a personality that was totally unique. Everyone loved him and he just wanted everyone to love each other and do what is right. He was always concerned about others more than himself.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at Tug River Community Church at 220 Country Club Drive Sprigg, WV 25661 at 1pm on Friday September 26, 2025.  Service will be conducted by his beloved Son-in-law, Reverend Scott Hurst, and his Pastor Brad Williamson with singing by Bonnie Hatfield. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY is serving the Adkins family. Online condolences may be made at rerogersfh.com.
