Lamar's Obituary

Lamar R. Stutzman, age 38 of Milford, IN, died Tuesday afternoon, September 30, 2025 at the scene of an accident in New Paris, IN.  Lamar was born on October 24, 1986 in South Bend, IN to Robert D. and Loretta L (Hochstetler) Stutzman. On June 20, 2008, Lamar married Melissa Slabaugh in Milford.  Lamar was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.  He worked as a roofer at Pro Time Metal Roofing. Lamar is survived by his wife, Melissa Stutzman of Milford; 4 children: Ryan Cole, Brianna Faith, Kaden Joel, and Zachary Lynn Stutzman, all at home; parents, Robert and Loretta Stutzman of Nappanee, IN; 6 siblings: Dewayne R. (Jennifer) Stutzman of Nappanee, Leland R. Stutzman and special friend Jenny Irons of Bremen, IN, Jason (Kimberly) Stutzman of Bristol, IN, Norman (Katie) Stutzman of Leesburg, IN, Marlene (Ray) Miller of Nappanee and Lynn (Becky) Stutzman of Plymouth, IN; many nieces and nephews; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Hochstetler of Shipshewana; and parents in-law, Lyle and Barbara Ann Slabaugh of Milford.  Lamar was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lewis Hochstetler and his paternal grandparents, Daniel Jr. and Annie Stutzman. Visitation will be held after 2 pm on Thursday, Oct 2, 2025 and all-day Friday, October 3, 2025 at the family residence (3701 W 1350 N, Milford, IN).  A funeral service will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Marcus Miller residence (23101 CR 56, Nappanee, IN).  Bishop Myron Hochstetler along with the Home Ministries of the Old Order Amish will officiate and burial will take place in West Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.  Arrangements are with Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
